Brands have to become the media by writing and publishing content as part of their Internet Marketing Strategy.

Publishing valuable content through the Internet has become an important component of an internet marketing campaign.  Although generating traffic through paid advertising is still a must have strategy in the internet marketing plan, publishing content is becoming a powerful weapon.

People, business people, are looking for content as a shift in expectations, commercial information is not enough, they want more, they want to understand, they want to hear the experts and hear other users, they want to learn.

Rules have changed and it is not enough for brands to be advertisers, they have to become the media (Read “Engage!” by Brian Solis) and content are becoming a currency. Suddenly writers, copywriters, literature graduates and experts that are willing to share their knowledge are becoming an important part of the internet marketing media plan.

But in order to be a good publisher, you have to be a good researcher and a good learner because you have to input information to your brain (your company), process and add value to it, and then output (publish) information.  And it has to be done as part of digital media plan plan because the content has to be aligned with the rest of the strategy.
